Who We Are

The Mechanical & Service Contractors Association of Eastern Pennsylvania (M&SCA) represents over 70 of the leading contractors in the mechanical, plumbing, and mechanical-service contracting industries throughout the Delaware Valley.

Our contractors and their employees – more than 3900 members of Steamfitters Local Union 420 and Plumbers Local Union 690 – are the best trained, most seasoned professionals in our industry.

BEST IN SAFETY

Of all OSHA-recorded safety-related incidents reported in our region, 8 in 10 (80%) come from our non-union counterparts. These accidents result in direct costs for medical and legal services. They also create indirect costs for accident investigation, implementing corrective measures, training replacement employees and making any repairs. They lead to eroding employee morale and absenteeism. Of course, there’s also the cost to an injured worker and his or her family.
With M&SCA member contractors and their workforce, you can get peace of mind that comes with our training, on-the-job processes and precautions and care at the job-site. We take safety seriously and it saves people, time and money.

WE INVEST TO EXCEL

Each year our Local Unions invest approximately $3.5 Million in educating and training 100% of our membership’s workforce in State accredited apprenticeship programs, journey person- and foreman- certification classes and project management training. Over time, our entire workforce engages in a continuing education program, ensuring they master new tools, technologies and techniques at the leading edge of our industry. They even earn college credits towards an associate’s degree as they complete their apprenticeship.
